Psychological Assessments in Criminal Proceedings
We provide psychological assessments for use in criminal proceedings, to include, but not exclusive to, cognitive assessments, assessments for learning disability, assessments for autism spectrum disorder, assessments of personality disorder, risk assessments, and full psychological assessments

Cognitive Assessments
We can provide cognitive assessments for individuals involved in criminal proceedings that focus upon their cognitive function, IQ levels, whether they meet the diagnostic criteria for a learning disability, and areas such as long-term memory and executive functioning, that may relate to their offending behaviours.
A functional explanation will always be provided to explain the offending behaviours from a psychological perspective where these behaviours are related to cognitive functioning.
Diagnostic Assessments
We offer diagnostic assessments in criminal proceedings, to include, but not limited to, personality disorder, mental health disorder, autism spectrum disorder, learning disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), to determine if an individual’s pre-existing condition(s) may have contributed to their offending behaviours and their decision making at the time of the offence(s).

Full Psychological Assessments
We provide full psychological assessments for individuals who have committed the whole range of criminal offences. Within this. process we look at an individual’s whole life history, their adverse childhood experiences, their previous trauma, their personality construct, their mental health difficulties, and construct a psychological formulation relating to the offending behaviour(s), their risk level, the risk of recidivism, and potential treatment options in order to reduce risk.
We can also comment upon the likely impact of a custodial sentence on a client from a psychological perspective.
Risk Assessments
Our psychologists can provide detailed risk assessments of clients, including those that have engaged in violent and sexual offences, in order to identify that individual’s risk or re-offending, and the targets for treatment that would be necessary to reduce the risk of re-offending.
